The UAE Pro League, Mubadala Investment Company, and the Authority of Social Contributions "Ma'an" announced launching "Senior Citizens Football Championship."
This came as a part of the community partnership agreement projects' package, which was signed in October 2024, whereby Mubadala Investment becomes an official partner of the UAE Pro League's competitions for the 2024-25 season.
The agreement included many awareness, sports and entertainment projects for various segments of society.
The "Senior Citizens Football Championship" will take place on January 4th and 5th on ACTIVE Al Maryah Island sports and recreatio in Abu Dhabi.
The championship will be the starting point for improving the life of the community members, encouraging them to engage in health and fitness programs, reducing health problems and contributing to fostering a healthy community environment.
Eight teams will partake in the championship as each one will include ten players aged 60 and above.
The qualifiers will take place on Saturday, May 4th at 11 am by holding four games for each team. Each game will last for ten minutes. These matches will be followed by the semi-final.
The final will be held on Sunday, January 5th at 11 am, followed by crowning the winning team.
