ADNOC Pro League Preview: Matchweek 21

While the international break has given teams an opportunity to pause for breath and reflection, it has now come to an end as the ADNOC Pro League returns once again with an exciting list of matchups for matchweek 21, which is scheduled to be held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 31st, April 1st, and 2nd 2023.

With six matchweeks left in the 2022-23 ADNOC Pro League calendar, it is no wonder that the title race is set to go down to the wire, especially since the key battle at the top of the table remains undecided.

Friday's actions get underway with Al Bataeh welcoming Ajman at Khaled Ben Mohamed Stadium for the 22:00 kick-off. This will be the second encounter between the two teams in the ADNOC Pro League after their previous game, which ended with a 2-1 win for Ajman.

At the same time, Al Wahda will host Sharjah at Al Nahyan Stadium. The hosts will be in a search of keep putting pressure on leaders Shabab Al Ahli to keep their hopes alive in the title race, while the visitors seek to clinch their second consecutive win after defeating Al Bataeh in matchweek 20.

During their 25 previous meetings, Al Wahda have 14 wins, compared to 6 for Sharjah, while the other five matches ended in draws.

The fixtures continue on Saturday, with Al Dhafra clashing against Bani Yas at 22:00, with the latter seeking to compensate for their last defeat to Dibba, while the former will look to boost their hopes of steering away from the relegation battle.

Saturday's fixtures continue with two big games between Al Wasl and Al Jazira at Zabeel Stadium, and Al Ain against leaders Shabab Al Ahli for the 22:00 kick-off.

Both Al Wasl and Al Jazira will seek to compensate for their draws in the last matchweek to continue to heap pressure on leaders Shabab Al Ahli.

All eyes will be at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, where Shabab Al Ahli and Al Ain go head-to-head in a mouth-watering top-of-the-table clash that might prove pivotal in the title race.

Matchweek 21 concludes on Sunday with Al Nasr welcoming Ittihad Kalba, and Dibba hosting Khorfakkan for the 22:00 kick-off.
