Higher Colleges of Technology Wins University Challenge 2024

The UAE Pro League awarded the grand prize in the University Challenge 2024 to the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) for their "StadiumXperience" project, securing first place.

Ajman University took second place with their "Loyalty Points App," while UAE University (UAEU) came in third with their "Score Ticket" project.

The awards ceremony was attended by Saeed Obaid Al Kaabi and Jawaher Abdulaziz Al Suwaidi, members of the UAE Pro League Board of Directors, along with representatives from the participating universities. The event took place on Thursday, May 23, at the Rixos Premium Saadiyat Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

The University Challenge 2024, part of the UAE Pro League's Innovation Platform, was launched in early February 2024 to promote innovation in the football sector.

Saeed Obaid Al Kaabi highlighted the success of the University Challenge 2024 initiative, which yielded outstanding projects from students across the participating universities. He stated, "The UAE Pro League follows the visionary roadmap set by our wise leadership towards innovation and creativity, positioning the UAE as a leader in various sectors."

Al Kaabi added, "We are committed to the continuity of the University Challenge, an annual initiative that engages with the youth to support innovation in the football sector. We believe in the importance of listening to and involving young people in decision-making. This year's challenge focused on three main areas: achieving environmental sustainability in UAE football, implementing new smart technologies, and enhancing the fan experience at professional clubs."

The competition saw nine entries from four universities: UAE University, Higher Colleges of Technology, Dubai Police Academy, and Ajman University. The top idea will be implemented in the UAE Pro League's future projects, and the top three winners received monetary awards.
