Al Wahda Reach ADIB Cup Final After 3–1 Aggregate Win over Al Jazira

Al Wahda booked their place in the ADIB Cup final despite a narrow 1–0 defeat to Al Jazira, as they progressed 3–1 on aggregate in the second leg of the semi-final, played on Sunday at Al Nahyan Stadium.

Al Jazira made a strong start to the contest, controlling possession and dictating the tempo during the opening stages, while Al Wahda remained compact and disciplined in their defensive shape.

Three minutes later, Al Jazira were awarded a penalty, and Abdalla Ramadan stepped up to convert confidently in the 18th minute, scoring the only goal of the match.

Despite reducing the deficit on the night, the goal was not enough to overturn Al Wahda’s advantage from the first leg.

The goal continued a remarkable trend for Al Jazira in the ADIB Cup, with the club’s last seven goals in the competition all having been scored with the left foot.

Al Jazira continued to push forward and nearly doubled their lead in the 29th minute, when Facundo struck from inside the penalty area, only for Stojan Lekovic to produce another outstanding save to keep Al Wahda in the contest.

Al Wahda emerged for the second half with greater attacking intent, applying sustained pressure and creating several dangerous moments in the final third.

Despite Al Jazira’s efforts to find a decisive second goal, their attacking attempts in the latter stages failed to produce a breakthrough, and the match ended 1–0 on the night. The result was enough for Al Wahda to seal their qualification to the ADIB Cup final for the sixth time in their history
