The ADIB Cup semifinals reach their decisive second leg on Saturday, with four UAE clubs competing for two spots in the final. Al Wahda host Al Jazira at Al Nahyan Stadium at 16:50, while Al Ain face Al Nasr at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium at 19:30.
Al Ain and Al Wahda enter the return matches with a strong advantage after securing 3–0 victories in the first leg. However, both Al Jazira and Al Nasr believe they can still challenge the odds and push for a dramatic turnaround.
The Al Wahda–Al Jazira derby carries significant history. Al Wahda seek their sixth appearance in the ADIB Cup final, while Al Jazira aim for their fifth.
The two sides have met 13 times in the competition, with Al Jazira winning eight and Al Wahda winning twice, alongside three draws.
Their matches have produced 40 goals, reflecting a high-scoring rivalry. This season marks their third semifinal encounter, after previous meetings in 2009–10 and 2012–13—both of which saw Al Jazira qualify.
Al Wahda have only once failed to advance after winning a first leg, while they remain unbeaten in their last eight ADIB Cup home games. Al Jazira, however, have overturned first-leg defeats twice in the past year, giving them momentum and belief.
The Al Ain–Al Nasr clash is the most-played fixture in ADIB Cup history.
Saturday’s match will be the 18th meeting between them, with Al Ain leading the series with seven wins to Nasr’s six, and four draws. This is also their third semifinal matchup; each club has qualified once before. Al Ain target a sixth cup final, while Al Nasr chase their fourth.
Still, history favors Al Ain: no team has ever advanced after losing the first leg by three goals in the ADIB Cup knockout rounds. Al Nasr face a difficult challenge, but the fixture has a long tradition of unpredictable outcomes.
