Tough Encounters to Take Place in 1st Leg of ADIB Cup's Quarters

The first leg of the ADIB Cup's quarter-final will see four tough encounters taking place on Sunday and Monday, December 11th and 12th.

Eight clubs will compete to secure their places in the semi-final, as five of them managed to claim the title before, including five-time champions Shabab Al Ahli, two-time champions Al Ain, Al Wahda, and Al Nasr, as well as; one-time champions Al Jazira.

Sunday's actions get underway with Al Dhafra welcoming Al Nasr at Hamdan Bin Zayed Stadium for the 16:45 kick-off.

The two clubs had played two games in the knockout stages, with Al Nasr securing a 3-1 aggregate win.

Meanwhile, both clubs had clashed nine times before, with Al Nasr winning five, compared to two victories for Al Dhafra, while the other two clashes ended in draws.

The games continue with a tough clash at Rashid Stadium, where five-time champions Shabab Al Ahli will host Al Jazira for the 19:30 kick-off.

During their seven previous encounters in the tournament, the Dubai-based side had four wins, compared to just a victory for the Pride of Abu Dhabi, while the other two fixtures ended in draws.

The fixtures continue on Monday, with Sharjah hosting Khorfakkan at 16:45.

Sharjah produced a brilliant performance in their last nine games in the tournament, with eight wins and just one loss.

The two clubs had previously met on one occasion during the last edition's third-place play-off, as Sharjah had the upper hand after defeating Khorfakkan 2-1 to claim the third spot.

The first leg concludes with 'Abu Dhabi Clasico' between Al Ain and Al Wahda as the match will take place at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium for the 19:30 kick-off.

During their 11 previous meetings, Al Ain had five wins, compared to four for Al Wahda, while the draws decided the results of the other two games, with Al Ain scoring 14 and Wahda finding the back of Al Ain's net on 11 occasions.
