Al Wahda staged a dramatic late comeback to draw 2–2 with Khorfakkan in the first leg of the ADIB Cup quarter-finals at Al Nahyan Stadium.
The second leg will be played on November 30 at Saqr bin Mohammad Al Qassimi Stadium, with both teams level and everything still to play for.
The first half saw chances at both ends, including attempts from Facundo Daniel and Omar Khribin for Al Wahda, and a strong effort from Aylton Filipe that was saved by Zayed Al Hammadi.
Khorfakkan struck early in the second half from a corner that Jadson accidentally turned into his own net, before Aylton doubled the lead with a stylish finish.
Al Wahda pushed back late in the match. Khribin reduced the deficit with a precise shot after a pass from Dusan Tadic.
Ghandipour briefly thought he had equalised earlier in stoppage time, but his goal was overturned by VAR for a foul.
Moments later, he rose again to head home the decisive goal and secure a dramatic draw.
