Al Ain made a powerful start to their 2026-27 AFC Champions League Elite campaign with a convincing 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.
Al Zaeem produced an impressive performance in their opening league-stage match in the West region, scoring once before half-time and adding three more goals after the break.
El Houssien Rahimi gave Al Ain the lead in the 25th minute after taking advantage of a defensive mistake and calmly finishing into the net.
Al Ain continued to control the game in the second half, and El Houssien Rahimi struck again in the 63rd minute to complete his brace and put his team firmly in command.
Nine minutes later, Soufiane Rahimi added a third goal in the 72nd minute as Al Ain continued to dominate and create chances against the Saudi side.
Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis completed the scoring in the 85th minute. He received the ball inside the penalty area before firing a powerful shot into the net to seal an emphatic 4-0 victory.
The result gave Al Ain their first three points of the 2026-27 AFC Champions League Elite season and an ideal start to their continental campaign.
Al Ain will next travel to Iraq to face Al Quwa Al Jawiya in the second match of the league stage, where they will look to build on their strong opening result and maintain their winning start in the competition.
