The 2025-26 ADIB Cup kicks off on Saturday, August 30th, bringing a new chapter of excitement and competition as clubs from the ADNOC Pro League battle for glory and the chance to lift one of the country’s most prestigious trophies.
Ahead of the new campaign, here are seven key facts about the tournament:
1. Al Jazira are the competition’s all-time top scorers with 222 goals, followed by Shabab Al Ahli (211), Al Ain (199), Al Wahda (198) and Al Wasl (184).
2. Since its launch, 22 clubs have featured in the ADIB Cup, with eight different teams crowned champions. Al Ain were the first winners in the 2008-09 season.
3. A total of 2,192 goals have been scored across 731 matches – an average of three goals per game. The competition is just eight goals away of reaching the landmark 2,200 mark.
4. Al Wahda hold the record for most victories in the competition with 57, edging Al Ain (55), Shabab Al Ahli (54), Al Jazira and Al Wasl (53 each), with Al Nasr close behind on 49 wins.
5. Al Wasl lead the way for clean sheets in the ADIB Cup with 39, ahead of Al Wahda (38), Al Nasr (36), Shabab Al Ahli (34), Al Ain (32) and Al Jazira (28).
6. Sebastián Tagliabúe is the all-time leading scorer in the competition with 37 goals. However, Al Wasl star Fábio Lima is closing in with 34 goals and could equal or surpass the record this season.
7. Lima has been in prolific form in recent years, scoring 15 goals in his last 20 ADIB Cup appearances.
