It was a fantastic start to the 2022-2023 U-21 Pro League, with a whopping tally of 19 goals scored in 7 matches over the recent weekend.
The biggest two results have been recorded at Dibba field no. 1 stadium, where Al Jazira earned a 5-1 victory against newly-promoted Dibba, and title holders Shabab Al Ahli defeated Sharjah with four unanswered goals at Sharjah Stadium.
Matchweek one saw three home wins, secured by Al Bataeh, Al Wahda, and Al Ain, and three away victories for Bani Yas, Shabab Al Ahli, and Al Jazira, while the goalless draw result decided the other seventh encounter.
A total of 9 goals were scored in the first four matches of the U-21 Pro League inaugural round, as Al Bataeh achieved a 2-1 home win over Ittihad Kalba, Bani Yas defeated Khorfakkan 2-0 at Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Stadium, while Al Wahda won 2-1 over Al Wasl at Al Nahyan Stadium, and Al Ain secured a 1-0 victory over Ajman at Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium.
On the second match day, a tally of 10 goals was scored during Sunday’s three matches that saw a goalless draw between Al Nasr and Al Dhafra at Al Maktoum Stadium, and two thrilling victories for Al Jazira and Shabab Al Ahli against newly-promoted Dibba and Sharjah respectively.
