Arabian Gulf League U21 matchweek 20: Al Ain drop points, Shabab Al Ahli move into top three

Al Ain were held to a 2-2 draw by Al Wahda in matchweek 20 of the Arabian Gulf League U21. Despite dropping two points, Al Ain remained at the top of the standings with 45 points.

 

Meanwhile, Sharjah defeated Khorfakkan 2-0 to move within three points of the league leaders. They are only two points clear of Shabab Al Ahli who moved into the top three after beating Ajman 4-1, overtaking Al Wahda who dropped to fourth place. The Clarets sit only one point clear of Ittihad Kalba who cruised to a 4-2 win over Al Dhafra.

 

The Tigers opened up a 10-point gap with Al Jazira who were held to a 1-1 draw by Hatta. The draw saw the Pride of Abu Dhabi sit sixth with 28 points, one clear of Al Wasl who lost 1-0 to eighth-placed Fujairah.

 

The defeat to Shabab Al Ahli left Ajman in ninth place with 23 points, two clear of Bani Yas who suffered a 2-0 loss against Al Nasr. Khorfakkan, Hatta, and Al Nasr occupy positions from 11th to 13th with a two-point gap between each of them, while Al Dhafra linger at the bottom with 10 points.
