UAE Pro League approves changes to competition regulations

The UAE Pro League board reviewed preparations for the 2020-21 season’s regular General Assembly meeting set to be held via video conferencing on Sunday, June 27, with representatives of all 14 professional clubs in attendance.

 

The review took place during the board's 12th periodic meeting for the 2020-21 season, held on Wednesday, June 23, via video conferencing. The meeting was headed by UAE Pro League Chairman His Excellency Abdulla Naser Al-Jneibi and attended by Vice-Chairman Jamal Hamed Al Marri and board members Mohammed Obaid AlYamahi, Hassan Taleb Al Marri, Tariq Ali Al Shabibi, Saeed Obaid Al Kaabi, and Jawaher Abdulaziz Al Suwaidi, in addition to CEO Waleed Al Hosani and Business Development Consultant Dr. Khalid Mohammed Abdullah.

 

The board approved amendments to the UAE Pro League competition regulations for the upcoming season. The changes covered the marketing, competitions and operations, broadcasting and TV production, and media regulations, as well as the guidelines, and quality control penalties. The UAEPL made amendments in line with the latest work updates and in support of the development efforts while collaborating with the partners in success, represented in clubs and organizations.

 

The meeting also reviewed the proposed calendar for the new season and agreed that next season’s draw ceremony will be held on June 30. The board also reviewed the progress reports for the various projects.

 

The board emphasized the importance of doubling the efforts ahead of the 2021-22 season and confirmed their aspirations to further develop Emirati football and take it to new heights in accordance with the 2020-2030 strategic plan.
