Al Ain beat Fujairah to move into top four

Caio Canedo netted a brace to hand Al Ain a 3-1 win over Fujairah at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in matchweek 17 of the Arabian Gulf League.

Al Ain were the better side in the first half and controlled possession in midfield until Caio Canedo broke the deadlock in the 23rd to hand the home side a 1-0 lead ahead of halftime.

After reviewing the VAR, the Boss were awarded a penalty and Laba Kodjo converted from the spot in the 71st minute to double Al Ain's lead. Canedo netted his second goal and the third for Al Ain in the 83rd minute to put the win beyond any doubt.

Kristiano†al Samuel pulled one back for Fujairah when he scored their first goal in the 89th, but it was too little too late as Al Ain emerged victorious 3-1.

Al Ain earned their second victory in a row to raise their tally to 30 points and move into the top four ahead of Al Nasr by virtue of head-to-head record. Meanwhile, Fujairah remained in 12th place with 10 points.
