Sharjah, Al Wasl play out goalless draw

Sharjah played out a goalless draw with Al Wasl at Sharjah Stadium in the first leg of Arabian Gulf Cup quarter-final, which is held under the name of "Mohammed Bin Rashid", in celebration of the 15th anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, as the head of the UAE Government.

The King looked more dangerous in the first half, however, they failed to pose enough threat on Al Wasl’s goal as both teams headed into the break with a 0-0 draw.

Al Wasl almost snatched a late win, but Sharjah keeper Darwish Mohammad pulled off two fine saves to deny Waleed Al Hamadi and Haboush Saleh in they dying minutes of the game, as the match ended in a goalless draw.

Both teams will be fighting for a spot in the semi-final when they clash in the second leg set to be held on January 26th at Zabeel Stadium.
