Shabab Al Ahli move top of Arabian Gulf League U21 standings

With only two matchweeks to go, Shabab Al Ahli moved to the top of the Arabian Gulf League U21 standings, while Al Ain dropped to second place following the conclusion of matchweek 24.

Shabab Al Ahli claimed the top spot after defeating Bani Yas 3-1 at Maktoum Bin Rashid Stadium. They now have 52 points, three above Al Ain who dropped to second place after losing 2-1 to fifth-placed Ittihad Kalba at Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium.

Wins for Sharjah and Al Wahda saw them sit third and fourth, respectively. Sharjah emerged 3-1 winners over Hatta at Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium, while Al Wahda edged Fujairah 2-1 at Al Nahyan Stadium.

Al Wasl's 4-0 victory over Khorfakkan at Saqr bin Mohammad al Qassimi Stadium left them in sixth place with 33 points. They are two points clear of Al Jazira who fell to a 2-1 defeat to Ajman at Mohammad bin Zayed Stadium.

Fujairah's defeat put them in ninth place, as they are level on 30 points with eighth-placed Ajman, and five above Bani Yas who sit ninth.

Al Nasr cruised past Al Dhafra with a 6-1 win, which put the former level with Khorfakkan on 21 points, only one below Hatta. Meanwhile, Al Dhafra linger at the bottom on 11 points.

The UAE Pro League previously announced the rescheduling of the remaining Arabian Gulf League U21 matches, exploiting the current Arabian Gulf League break due to the teams’ AFC Champions League commitments between April 14th and 30th.
